Project Brief
This project is intended to reinvent the traditional broadcast to make it more visual, interesting and attract a wider viewing audience. I plan to utilize motion and animated graphics to add another sense to the broadcast and increase the likelihood the viewer will process and remember the information. I will use Adobe Animate to create the complex animations after creating the individual graphics in Adobe Illustrator and will use After Effects to “build” the broadcast and layer the footage and imagery. Adobe Audition will be used as needed to edit my sound for the voice over aspects and Premiere will also be used to edit any video footage I will use. |
Adobe Animate/Illustrator
I created five animations using Adobe Animate to accompany my audio. I created the illustrations for each animation in Adobe Illustrator then moved them into Animate. Each animation was aimed at visualizing the content that was being discussed in the story. Click on the images to be taken to the animation. |
Adobe Premiere
I used premiere to edit my individual video footage as well as to compile the mp4's of each animation. Once I had the rough cut of the video footage, animations and audio compiled I exported it as one mp4 to move into After Effects. I used After Effects to compile the remaining documents such as the introduction and outro theme and added the photo transitions and overlays. I created the intro and the outro of my broadcast in Adobe After Effects, as well as the overlay during when Terry Fistick is speaking. I found After Effects helpful to use for the final placing of separate objects and for when I needed to overlay objects within the broadcast. The ability to fade objects as I did with the photos of Greenes, vodka and wine made that portion more visually appealing than static photos would. Ideally I would have liked to have been able to redo the interview with Fistick to get live footage but I believe After Effects gave me the tools to make the best with what I had.
